embarking and disembarking by rail
i embarked a troop onto rail just to see where i could get him to! then disembarked him without moving and found that was his turn over! It was a critical wasted move that i could'nt afford and it really messed me up in a multiplayer game, it needs to be sorted. and quite frankly is silly. is it a bug, an oversight? i load troops onto their trucks to see where they can move to and then unload and no problem they still have their move. Unhappy i did this at such a critical time
Re: embarking and disembarking by rail
It can be annoying, especially if you do it by accident but i don't mind the restriction as it would be quite time consuming to load divisions by rail, especially armoured ones. Having said that it is unusual that you can check your moves by truck and load up unlimited times but cannot by rail. It probably should be one way or the other.

Re: embarking and disembarking by rail
It has been requested to be fixed (so that you don't lose your turn when you check how far a train can travel - assume the logistics guys would check that before loading the trains!) but no word yet on exactly what has or will be changed in the 1.06/Afrika Korps expansion.

thanks for the update El_Condoro

Re: embarking and disembarking by rail
There is a similar glitch when loading a unit on a rail-served port. The game asks you which method you want, then locks up until you choose - no way to go back, or even scroll and see movement options with both. Slightly frustrating.
Re: embarking and disembarking by rail
back again after quite some time

Re: embarking and disembarking by rail
The rail option is fixed.
If you are on a railhead you can switch back and forth.

Re: embarking and disembarking by rail
Rail embarkation is indeed fixed, but (player beware!) naval embarkation remains "old style": if you embark, there is no "undo" short of immediately disembarking on the same hex. In the interests of playability, probably things should work the same in both cases.
