Game time

Post by paulbg »

How long are people finding that it takes to play a game.

Say 800pts

From the games I have played - none to completion because of time - it looks like 4-4.5 hrs

The 3 first games took me around 5 hrs, but it was essentially due to research in the rule book to be sure that it was correct way to play and also to arguing with my partner to be sure understand the same thing.

Now around 3 hours without settlement

Last weekend we held a convention, 800 points

27 four hour games were held. I will need to double check but I think that there were 6 time-out draws and 21 results. Fastest games that got a result were about 2 hours, most of the rest finished in 3 - 3.5 hours.

Cheers

Started out at about 5hrs for a 800pt game due to the learning curve - we're now at 3hrs.

We upped our game to 1000pts and can finish in just over 4hrs.

About 3-4 hours with 800 points but also due to rule research but each game is getting quicker

That's a very promising percentage of results. a 78% completion rate is well above figures for ancient games.
