problems sending private message

I've tried to message Terry Shaw about trophy engraving. The message appears in my "outbox" but not in my "sent messages" so I think it has not been sent. If so, I can't figure out how to send it. Any suggestions?

It does not become sent until it the recipient has been to their inbox.
There is, in effect, no sending as the pm does not leave slitherine, it doesn't move, it just waits to be picked up by the recipient.
