Multiple download message

Gday can someone from Slitherine please explain why i am getting the following message as i am not Multidownloading and have on occasion closed a game as is allowed to get back to it later. In the past 2 weeks i have had at least 4 of these messages.


We noticed you have downloaded some turns multiple times. If you are having any technical issues please report them to at www.slitherine.com/forum.
We'll do our best to resolve any issues and get you up and running ASAP.

I am not impressed and obviously this message is intended for cheats and if this rubbish doesnt stop i will discontinue playing this game . I think there are cheats out there and you are doing very little to deal with them.

The way the system works is that it tracks how many times you have downloaded and uploaded. We allow for a small margin of error due to connection loss or crashes but still warn users when it happens. In your case the number of times you have downloaded more than uploaded is small which is why its not raised the issue higher. We know exactly what every player has done and can tell if they are cheating.

Here is a record of your actions in one game this weekend. As you can see you have downloaded the first turn 5 times without uploading it. I assume you had some sort of issue?

Thanks for getting back to me and showing me a potential problem. Now this appears to be when i tried to get into Multiplayer and it was taking foreever so closed it then reopened it and probably that many times as i was having a hard time getting it to open. All seems good now since things are a lot faster now.Ive had a message from the 14th and i cant figure what that one is for So the warning comes when you cant get into multiplayer and close and open from there. So what message do you get if you try to resart the game is it the same?

The warning comes if you download more than once without uploading. This could happen if there was a connection issue. As we have been upgrading the server there have been some issues so it could be related to that. I can see in the logs there are other times where you have had more than one download - these tend to be one double download across an entire game and the vast majority of your games have no issues. This is why you have been sent the notification message.

Ok thanks for filling me in and i am now more informed on why the messages happen i feel more at ease. I thought i was on the verge of extermination and just wanted a reason .Hopefully this will make others more aware of why they get the Ominus warning aswell.

That means that the ocasional cheater; the one that knows when is it worthy to cheat; on a decisive turn for example will remain unharmed because he maybe only made one redownlod on the hole game?
