Installation Probs

OK, here we go: I have installed many games in the past 15 years but Panzer Corps has me confused to all get out. Making a clean install on my XP machine using the DEFAULT path for Ver 100, game installs in C:\\Program Files\Slitherine\Panzer Corp\(No Mod Folder).(No my games folder)

From everything I been able to find and comments on this forum this is not a correct path ?????

Now I manually directed the installation path to: C:\\My Games\Panzer Corps\(added Mods folder)yet the DATA folder went with the Laucher folder to the above path ???? Using this path I updated to Ver 1.05 added in the 39, 40, 41, 42 Grand camps
and all seemed good. When I added GTPG Grand camp v.01, (installed it in MOD folder) it never shows up in the game (yes I un packed it with 7 Zip).

I went back to the Default setup and Put the GTPG Grand etc. in its mod folder, after un zipping and it still no show ??????

Now I know I'm an old buck, but by gosh I ain't no dummy. I won't go into the Win 7 lash up until this gets squared away, it too goes ape. Please don't get me started on the UN-INSTALL feature which didn't work on either machine, I had to Delete all the files by hand.

Pls resolve my problems, I also have a sneaking hunch that I am not alone in this problem. Thank you, eagerly awaiting your reply, sorry my original language is American.

Under Win XP "C:\\Program Files\Slitherine\Panzer Corp\" is all right for the *main game* - so for your first installation, and game patches. From my experience you can choose whatever path you wish under XP, so the one above should work fine for playing the *main game*.

But thing is that besides the main path many games make use of Window's "my games" folder for certain stuff, for example saves, custom content like scenarios, mods etc.

For installing mods it is best to follow the instructions given by the mod's creator(s). If you have a GME mod it can get a bit confusing though...

There are two locations for the PzC installation:

1. The main game files are the ones you installed originally to C:\Program files\ etc. Now they are in C:\My Games\Panzer Corps, which is fine. The game will play with it there.
2. The player data is stored in My documents\My Games\Panzer Corps\(Save, Mods etc.). This location can vary from PC to PC but on XP it's usually where I've said.

The GTPG installation goes into the Mods folder of this second location. It should then appear in "Other campaigns"

El_Condoro: I can get to Panzer corps by C:\\Documents and settings\Owner\My Documents\My Games\Panzer Corps|Launcher and logs, NO SAVE folder, NO MODS Folder, What now ??????? Please don't say reinstall because I've done that so many times I'm heading for the funny farm.........AAAARGH !

Will the game automatically generate a SAVE folder, and do I add a MODS folder and install the GTPC grand campaign to it ??????

It shouldn't be C:\\Program Files\........ but C:\Program Files\.... This might create some problems in Windows registry.
The game will generate after installing and saving for the first time the Save folder: My Documents\My Games\Panzer Corps\Save.
However the mod folder must be created by the user: My Documents\My Games\Panzer Corps\Mods

So you only should have the Save folder after saving for the first time, I think.

Have you run the game since your reinstallation? I think it generates those folders in My Games on first fire-up, but I might be wrong - try it.
Once you've fired the game up, save a game (one turn) with a unique name then do a search for it - that will tell you where the folder is.
Use that folder to install the GTPG.

The DLCs install under the main PzC folder structure, not the player data folder, so their location won't help you.

My game on the XP system seems to be working OK now. Now don't start cheering yet my three musketeers, I still have a problem on my Win 7, more on that later, and maybe aother little question or 2,

Save is Generated after first save in the game. This is from my Win7 setup and all's well in the Panzer Corps.

I am once again a happy camper, again my thanks to all who replied to my frantic and excited call for HELP !
