2.1 Question

In looking at the map I was curious why at the beginning of the game Algeria and southern France show Vichy as the owner.
I would thought they would be French.
Just curious.

It's necessary so that Vichy France can be created but it doesn't hinder pre-conquest France.
In spite of the Final Fantasy character it's pronounced sao-win after the Irish pagan god of death. I'm not a pagan but we're on a wargames website so I thought it fitting.

Does it affect Frances income if you are the allies?

No if France isn't defeated. If Paris doesn't have a French unit on it and the armistice is accepted then any Allied income from France is gone apart from the 1 production from the Free French in Agadir. If the armistice is rejected then all French units and territory not in Axis hands becomes British (Free French).
