Can we have shadows on iPad?

My sons PC version shows shadows but on my iPad there arn´t any. Can we have shadows on the iPad?
Guess the iPad should be fast enough to handle shadows.

The performance characteristics on the iPad are a little different to the PC or Mac video cards. It has very poor throughput of transforming triangles, which is almost the exact opposite of most other gfx chips. This makes drawing the shadows (which are basically done by drawing the units and objects again with special transforms onto a texture we use for the shadowing) very tough, even on the iPad 2/3.

So it is something we are looking into, but it's not likely in the short term.
