List Kingdom of Italy ?

Post by Ambiorix »

Hi I was wondering (actually hoping) my 25mm Italians can have a list of their own.

I know they fought alongside the French, but would prefer to field them alone.
(no offense to the French, after all the Italian army is a nice miniature version of La Grande Armée)
In 1812, IV Corps was surely big enough to justify a separate Italian portion and in 1813 one of the 3 corps of the Kingdom of Italy was 100% Italian, the other 2 Franco-Italian;

So can anyone confirm the Italians will make it in the next armylist book ?

Thx for the good news :)
Ciao

Gee... both, that is great news !

My other armies are Bavarian and Baden, I presume the former will have a list of its own but I guess the latter is pushing the envelop too much ?

Can I find somewhere already an overview of all the armies in both books ?

Cheers,
a happy general :D

Of course 1805 In Italy is mostly French! I have Italians too.

Several Bavarian in the first book. In 1815 an anti French Corps - they had 75,000 men in their army by then . And there is a Baden Division list for 1815 as an optional part of the Army of Bohemia ( and anti French). Badeners are usually French allied contingents but not counting as Allies for commanders - or optional units. There is often provision for a Division from one list to be included in another list. Bavarians can provide that in French Corps in some years. We have also done an 1809 Tyrolean revolt list, which the Bavarians can counter ( but with limited cavalry).

Of course there is nothing stopping anyone using Confederation of the Rhine figures in some French Corps eg in 1809 instead of French figures but classified the same as the subsituted French so long as you tell your opponent.

On lists I have done a "marketing" piece for the the first book which lists all the lists so I will chase that up to see where it has got to. Broadly however the first is 1809-1815 main continent of Europe about 75 lists. Divided into 1809, 1812, 1813/14 and 1815 with some other one off campaigns like Russians and Ottomans and Walcheren. We have just finalised the second book and as Terry added some Ottoman lists I don't yet have the final lists of lists back from him so I will chase that up. That book is 1792-1802, 1805-1808 and the Peninsula 1807-1814 about 70 lists, rather more one off limited campaign lists.

Wow, even the Tyrolean revolt ? Can't wait to get the books!
Thx o lot for the info, it seems all of my 'old' troops will see daylight again after many years of hibernation.

Well whether anyone will fancy fielding so many light infantry irregulars - the Tyrolean Landsturm - is a moot point but as something of an Austropohil ( ?) and regular tourist there - and lover of lost causes - I wanted to acknowldege and recognise the patriot Andrea Hoffer and his supporters and they did manage to concentrate some 20,000 men at one point.
