A Quick Etruscan Question

Post by oriss »

I have a bunch of Etruscans from a previous existance, I want to field 2 BG's of Off Sp and 2 BG's as Impact foot
(the figs are Sp or Pila armed) I been looking at the list and can't see any reason that would stop me. However i'm notorious for spotting the minutae and missing the obvious. can someone confirm I'm allowed to do this, I do like to conform!!!
Cheers.

That looks fine to me, so long as you pick a date "from 330BC."

I am just contsructing an Etruscan army and am wanting to understand the references to "mixed battle groups " in " Lost Scrolls" .

Given under FOG(A) you cannot have different quality or training in a single BG and the Etruscan list does not provide a split between different types ( as in say Ordonnance Burgundian for Pike and Longbow and mixed medium and heavy foot in some early Persian types) is it the intention, or an option, to have a BG that is half or more offensive Spear and the rest impact foot - the latter in the front rank I imagine? That would seem to reflect the comments and descripion under troop notes. Alternatively a mix of BGs some with Off Spear and some with Pilum ( all as you say post 330) is the other obvious approach alreday aires here. :?:
