"New Equipment" info question

You know the "new equipment" window showing at the start of a new scenario in a campaign when new unit typs become available?

Now I have not played an unmodded game for quite some time, and I can't remember about this: does this also inform about newSE/bonus units available for upgrades in vanilla? Or only for the standard units?

Somehow in my mod I only get it for the standard units, not for any bonus unit and wondered if it is the same in other mods, or how it was exactly in vanilla...

SE bonus units aren't shown. That's why i automatically check at every deployment phase if i cannot upgrade my SE units.
Probably when a unit has the trait "bonus", it doesn't appear in the new equipment window.

Probably it was not really considered. In every vanilla game, when a new german tank becomes available, it automatically means you can update your SE tank(s) to the new model.
