Double moves vs 2nd moves

Post by stecal »

Just to make it clear to me,

are double moves in march column/limbered on a road the same thing as 2nd moves that require a cmt, or are they completely different things?

Units in march column & linbered artillery move up to "double their normal allowance" on a road (if over 6MU fromenemy). As Don says, this is entirely different from a 2nd move. You may move double distance on a road in both 1st and 2nd moves - meaning that you could move up to 24" with infantry to a massive 40" with light cavalry.....This is mitigated by the fact that you can't move within 6Mu of the enemy and it takes a full move to get out of column formation.
