Can the Panzer Corps Editor be used to create an American Civil War Campaign? Or is someone at Slitherine already working on a 1861-1865 Campaign utilizing the Panzer Corps design?
BTW, sometimes I get captured units in Panzer Corps, how does that happen? Is it any area my units control where enemy reinforcements appear?
And is there a way to generate random terrain, units, etc. (similar to the Civilization game), for continuous campaigns?

The editor can even be used to make a star trek mod as long you have the custom units to create such mod. Slitherine is working on ww2 addons like the dlc`s.Kriegen wrote:Can the Panzer Corps Editor be used to create an American Civil War Campaign? Capturable units are scripted in a scenario. The player receives one by capturing a certain hex, usually a city hex.
At present there is no random terrain generator.

Well dammit! If they "make" the Yankees win this time, I'm gonna be pissed.

Old Timer Panzer General fan. Maybe a Volksturm soldier now. Did they let Volksturm drive Panzers?

Re: American Civil War Campaign Design
Is there an easy way to make ACW units icons and just substitute for the PzC ones in ACW scenarios/campaigns (since there are Cavalry, Cannons, and Infantry already available in PzC (only the units stats, names, etc., would have to be modified)?
Also, can scenarios be made to conceal all terrain until units explore it?

Re: American Civil War Campaign Design
I don't know how are the ACW units, but I'm sure you would have to adapt them and it would be as easy as just to replace files. PzC has a different engine.
As to conceal all terrain units until explore it, I think it's not possible. Probably it's possible to create a darker fog.

In the Graphics\Overlays folder there is FoW.png. I haven't tried it but my guess is that, if you make this black or darker, you won't see the terrain unless it is in spotting range. The downside is that terrain that has been spotted once but is currently un-spotted will be black - this probably isn't what you want.
Re: American Civil War Campaign Design
Being new to creating scenarios/campaigns endeavors, I was pleased to have created one that worked, although it needs to be pared down; it was experimental anyway. Now I will try to create ACW scenarios (and later hopefully piece them together in ACW campaign form) and will use relevant PzC units (e.g. Cav, Can, Inf), modifying some attributes, until I can find a way to give their icons appropriate ACW appearances. Kriegsspiel-wise, the scenarios should still work, only the attire will still be ww2.
I think Slitherine has devised a remarkably versatile editor. I wonder if some of you go back to the days of Avalon Hill, SPI, etc., who generated games like "Swift Swords" (I think that was the name?) and one I saw posted here in the forum recently, called "Blitzkrieg," which made me somewhat nostalgic.
Also, under the Scenario Parameters tab, where do I type in the Victory Conditions (just like the Scenario Description permits)?

You need to edit the pzloc file, which you will find in the my documents, my games, panzer corps, data folder. Use a text editor such as Notepad++.
