Fostering a Community

Post by Anyman »

This game has great support from Pip at Slitherine and the other top posters, but it is up to each of us to foster a community where everyone can feel welcome especially the new guys so they can feel free to ask any question with out ridicule and learn about modding as we all have.

So lets try and answer every post even if you don't have an answer tell the postie whom you think they should PM for help. And tell them how to find the PM button in the Memberlist section. Nothing discourages a new member more than feeling that your being ignored.

Best Regards,
Anyman

I don't have an answer to this post ... except ...

"If anyman needs help, then we can help any man, women, small animal, etc"

:D

So yeah ... what anyman said.

I'm new at this game and feel a little overwhelmed. Any friendly advice?

I would start with some of the tutorials in the Scenario Design forums. As with most things, start small and add to it. I know some people have gotten overwhelmed when they start with an initial plan that includes new models, settings, game scripting, etc. Making small changes and updates lets you make constant progress, which is much more satisfying.

Then if you come across things you need help on, posting here will usually get you answers pretty quickly :).

Cheers

I have battle academy for my iPad so I'm not sure if I can mod? Even if I had the computer version I'm not sure I would know how to do it either. I'm not as tech savvy has I would like when it comes to that but I wrote a post about how I loved battle academy and the joy it brings from the table top genre. I play Flames of War, a WW2 table top game, and battle academy is brilliant when keeping to the genre. It has even helped me understand certain aspects of a live tabletop game better than before I played so well done. In my dream world I think all eras of warfare would translate brilliantly to battle academy. Civil War? Hit. 100 years war? Hit. You get my point. I wish I was clever enough to make it happen. Haha. Thanks for reading. Cheers
