PBEM multiplayer and server proxy

Post by Amaranthus »

At work I'm behind a corporate firewall, which is fine for internet browsers etc. but seems to be blocking PBEM+ communication in Panzer Corps. I'd like to submit a turn during my lunch break, but can't. Is there a way to specify a proxy setting (proxy server address and password), or is this perhaps something to consider for a future patch?

That's odd. The communication uses the standard IE settings, so it should route through the same as your browser does. Could it be the program itself that is being blocked on your machine?

Cheers

I had the same problem on my work network. The problem was that downloads were being blocked unless from authorised sites - MP PzC requires the game file to be downloaded to play.

It's probably the downloads issue. I agree it's odd, because once the browser unlocks the firewall, other programmes like Tweetdeck work okay.

Anyway, I fortunately managed to circumvent it, by switching over to the work's wireless network for turn download/upload. The wireless doesn't require the proxy input. That also rules out my machine blocking it. Anyway, issue solved for me at least, and it's probably not a significant issue. Thanks for the responses.
