Ive just looked at an after carpet bombing report ("L" button) and at the top found a stat called "Level bomber efficiency".
This decides how much (in %) ammo the bombed enemy looses. But how is it calculated?
It looks like it is fixed for each unit and doesn't change depending on the enemy bombed or even if you take ground defensive fire or not.
Level bomber efficiency - How is it calculated?

I think Ill look into it and see if this makes sense but the formula looks real - my worse but overpowered and experienced bomber is taking more ammo out of the enemy than a better but at 10 str and with less stars.
Also shows how powerful stat bombers become. I have a 13 star, 13str Ju188 and it has a 84% efficiency so it takes away 84% of ammo on one go.
If its such an easy stat to calculate and is taken into account at the beginning of a battle before the actual casualties are calculated, so they dont influence it and its a 100% sure outcome of ammo lost, why cant we see it (both the efficiency and/or the amount ammo the enemy will loose) in the calculations (ctrl + click). I think for strat bombers this is more important than physical damage .

There is some text in game rules which determines how fast each star is gained but that doesn't explain how level bombers do it. I edited game rules txt so I'd gain experience at a much slower rate in the DLC's and not bump into the cap so much but the support units (bombers and artillery) still streak ahead with their stars over everyone else. I'm not sure why ?I have noticed that level bombers gains experience much faster than other units, despite inflicting less kills. I wonder how the experience gain is calculated.

Ok did a few tests and found out the formula is correct (current str/max str usually10*(20+10*number of stars))
It gets calculated after defensive fire but before direct enemies defence, even if its an AA unit.
The whole number is used to calculate ammo lost by the enemy.
If you are bombing a city half of this number is taken into account in "strategic bombing" and determines how much prestige the enemy looses after bombing and the chance to "neutralize" the city.
The efficiency is affected by weather.
