Applying changes to a saved campaign ?

I've done some modding to the equipment file in Panzer Corps to give infantry close defense some more variety, (eg wehrmacht and regulars stay at 2, grenadiers and guards get 3 and conscripts get 1). So far the results look promising and i would like to try them out in my DLC campaign but when i load a saved game the purchase list and my Core units have not changed. So can equipment be changed in a saved campaign or are stuck with the settings initially generated ?

I think that the game will only reread the equipment file after starting a new DLC or beginning a new campaign.

I might reload 41 then
