Can't install DLC and 1.04 update

Hi @all,

well, I am another guy from Germany who want to say hello to the community. I also played Panzer General and I have been pleased to see that there is something new which could have the potential to be a worthy successor of the original PG.

I had similar problems as Exerlo described yesterday. First of all I installed the brand new game and everthing has been fine (except the circumstance that I would have payed 50% less buying it one or two days later. Well done from sales view, bad taste from customer view, sorry! A small feedback would have been nice like "We are glad to inform you about our new 50% offer. As you paid full price one day before get a warrant for DLC 41...." or something like that

). But what am I complaining, it is bad luck simply!

Searching for updates gave me the information regarding 1.04 patch. Download and......snail speed. No way. Too slow to get the update within 1,5 hours. Hmm, doesn't matter, I have the DLC's also so I thought I simply install them and maybe patch 1.04 would be included as lordzimoa posted here. Problem has been that there popped up a comment during installation that says something like "need to update to 1.04 to install...". It was only a very short message right at the beginning of installation so I coudn't make a screen shot. Afterwards program was not responding. So, what do I have here?

System: Windows 7 (including the standard updates for windows)
Panzer Korps Wehrmacht and the 39 and 40 DLC.....................as downloaded versions. Hardcopies are on the way.

If there is patch 1.04 included in the DLC's, is it on the DVD's as separate data or would it be automatically installed with the big **.exe file of e.g. DLC campaign 39 (also as downloaded version)?

P.S.: I found a comment in the tech support ..."If I understood the directions for the '39 campaign download correctly, it said the download would include the 1.04 patch, but when I tried that approach, I could not get the campaign to download into the correct PCW folder. I had to download the 1.04 patch in a separate action."...

What PCW folders are mentioned here? Is that maybe the problem I do have?

What PCW folders are mentioned here?

PCW should be Panzer Corps Wermacht.

As for intallation,
- Install the game,
- Get the 1.04 from here: http://www.gamefront.com/files/20950501 ... e_v104_zip
- Install 1.04 patch
- Install the DLC files.

DLCs need the 1.04 patch but dont have it.

The DLC's do include the 1.04 patch.

All you need to do is install the base game then the DLC. It will patch your game to 1.04.

Where did you get the base game?

Hi welcome to the forums, Frontstahl.
Sorry for hearing you're having issues with Panzer Corps.

Ni impar, you're not totally correct.
The Dlcs already bring with them 1.04, just in case the main game is not updated to 1.04.
When this occurs, the DLC will update automatically Panzer Corps to 1.04.

In a case like this I suggest:

- Install Panzer Corps main game
- Run the game and exit
- Install DLC
They are several causes for having issues with the installation of the DLC and 1.04. Mostly is connected with a corrupted download. But cases like interference of a Internet Security Program (like AntiVirus) or any other third party program are not so rare. So I suggest first to try to install the DLC in Windows Safe Mode or at least with the Internet Security Program disabled temporarily.

Hi,

I bought the Hardware+Download version and as you can imagine I couldn't wait until the Hardware arrives.

Therefore I used the download link received by an E-Mail including my personel key.

Well the base game works. There has been one "not responding" at the beginning of the 39 to 45 campaign after moving my first Infantry unit. That has been the reason for me to look for an update. After my "update-desaster" I played it without any probs.

What I will try in the afternoon is to install the DLC 39 again as you mentioned, VPaulus. Base program runs so it should be able to "receive" the DLC39 and also patch 1.04. I will give you a short feedback regarding "Decisive Victory" over Software or "surrender" in early war.

I know what you mean. Probably 1.04 update brings more files than those needed to update the game to 1.04.
I've checked the installation procedure that I and Iain suggested, and it worked.

Well I don't know what has been wrong yesterday but today it has worked easily.

DLC 39 installed patch 1.04 and then everything goes fast. DLC 39 followed by DLC 40, start program, go to war.
