A Few Newbie Questions

Post by gsmart04 »

Hi All,

I just got the game, read through the shorter player's manual and decided to start the tutorial.

I'm an old Avalon Hill Third Reich game player (I said I was old :) )

A few questions:

1) How do you actually move the deployable leaders to friendly units? I've tried clicking on them in the Force Pool and then clicking on a destination but when I did that Rundstedt seem to just disappear. I tried dragging and nothing happened.

2) Is it possible for Italy to declare war on Yugoslavia before Italy is activated as a German active ally? You could do this in the old boardgame I played but it looks like its not possible for Italy to enter the war either on its own or even as an active ally of Germany until June of 1940. Is that last statement correct?

3) How do you (with the mouse I mean) rail move? For example: a German unit from the Polish front (1939) to the western front? I can't seem to figure that out.

4) Finally, are brochures 1 & 2 posted somewhere or located in the manual?

I realize these are really basic, dumb questions. I really would appreciate anybody providing the answers, though.

Thanks in advance!!

Loved the 3rd reich game, gret game. Good solutions with breakthrough in the line to simulate Blitzkrieg.

1. On your lower right hand side there is an option called "Force pool", scroll over it with mouse to se the text. Click on it and and you will come to the deployment of avaliable units. If you can place more than one unit it is always the first one in line you place. You simply place it by clicking on a unit of the country that the leader belongs to. You can only place leaders on units that has not moved or done any kind of action.

2. Unfortunately the declaration involves only germany, Italy joins the war at a certain date and can, if a certain situation arrise join the war earlier. But tthemselves cannot declare war.

3. Click the unit you wish to rail, on the stats square for the unit there is a train button with an arrow pointing up. You simply click it and the possible squares you can rail to will be lit up on the map. You can´t rail units who are in zone of control by enemy units or units that has taken any kind of action.

4. They are somewhere....but if you click on number 6, at the end you can click on any number you wish.

Good luck...

THANKS!!! Crazyg I really appreciate it. I couldn't place the leader because I had done an action with the units I was trying to place him on.

A shame Italy can't declare war on their own but is probably more realistic that way.

I'll try the rail move tomorrow when I play again.

I'll check out the brochures now.

Thanks again. I'm sure I'll have more questions the more I play.
