New Mod Only Works First Time

Post by Xerkis »

Only seems to work the first time through.

* Loaded up my mod in the folder where instructed.
* Started the game – Mod folder is there – my mod is there
* Started to play my mod
* Exit out of my mod back to menu
* Mod folder is no longer there (in GUI) unless you exit all the way out and restart the game

What did I miss?

I have the same problem - mod works as intended but if you leave the mod and go back to the main menu the mod folder ('More campaigns') is missing. It also shows my Red Dawn campaign image which is not there if you go into the campaigns screen after opening PzC.

Hmm very strange. The campaign I tested with didn't have this issue. Here, pass the information along if you don't mind.

Custom mod support is still a new feature, and some problems are possible. But we'll do our best to address them asap.

2nikivdd and all others having problems: please send your custom mods to me (rudankort@rsdn.ru), and I'll check what's going on there. Thanks.

Did you create the unique ID

You need to modify your pzn.campaign file to include the ID

I just reread the announcement under the scenario design forum and I don’t see anything that says about adding the unique ID in to the campaign file. Obviously I could be missing it though.

Only that the unique ID had to be in the GUID.txt file. Which I have done.
The only thing I saw about the campaign file is that you have to have one there – and I do as well.

Where are you getting this about the campaign file?

Only need to edit the campaign.pzdat if you are planning to link campaigns like the GC does.

Yeah, that is what I got out of it too.

Still the same issue as the first post.

You need to remove the gamesetup.htm file from your custom campaign folder. With new UI to select custom campaign this option is not needed, and it causes the problem too. I'll fix the code so that the problem does not happen even if custom gamesetup.htm is present, but in any case campaign mods will not be able to override main menu or campaign selection UI, so this file will not be used.

Well that certainly makes sense.

The only reason I ever saw to have a copy of the gamesetup.htm was to have a way to get in to your campaign. Since this new release does that for us – no need to change that file any more.

Thanks.
