How to check version number?

The Grand Strategy update apparently needs V1.06 or better.

How can I check the version of my existing MHCEAW installation? As I don't want to download hundreds of Mb if it isn't going to work.

If I remember right, the version number is in the lower right of the start menu screen (when you see the helmet on the beach). The tricky bit was that it's white font on white surf/sand.

Aha. Now I see it (V1.12).
It's almost completely invisible on an LCD screen.
You have to stand to the side of the monitor and look at the image from about an 80 degree angle.
