Weird Patch of Soviet Supply Level 5 in middle of Germany

The Soviets have occupied a large clump of the middle of German, and somehow they are getting supply level 5 there. I can't quite figure it out –– they are way too far from Moscow, and units that are closer to Moscow, and in the same terrain are getting supply 4.

They have Budapest, which is a capital, but I don't think minor capitals count for supply, and besides, units closer to Budapest only have supply 4.

So, it seems like Soviet units in the middle of Germany are getting some sort of supply bonus. Any thoughts?

Axis occupy London and Paris, and the closest Allied units are around (not in) Madrid. Italy is still Axis controlled, too.

Any thoughts on this? As far as I can tell, this is a bug, unless there is some very special supply rule I don't know about.

Patience, it is not necessary to begin shouting. I'm sure that the developers of the mod will look into this as soon as they have the time to spare. Remember that they do all the work in their free time.

That no one noticed this bug can be easily explained as it is quite hard to spot and many games don't reach this stage of the game (games are often surrendered before the Red Army enters Germany etc.).

I wasn't shouting. I was being emphatic.

It is, after all, a very serious problem for the Axis, and we are having enough problems as it is, holed up in our Führer bunker. The food is terrible, we've run out of champagne, and the Russians are parading around central Germany.

I fixed the bug where Russia had supply level 5 in western Germany. The reason was that the shortest path routine just counted hexes to any capital and that means all hexes within 20 hexes from London was flagged as supply level 5, even if they were Russian owned.

I altered the code so Russia can only get supply from their own capitals plus Basra (for southern Russia). So Russia can no longer trace supply from London or Paris. That means Russian units will drop to supply level 3 if they get almost to the Siegfried line, but I don’t see that as a problem. If that happens the Russia has usually captured Berlin and Hamburg.
