Move-by-move Replay

Post by metolius »

This is probably outside of the scope of development at this point, but it would be really instructive to be able to see a 'move-by-move' replay of what happened during the other players turn in a PBEM game. In other words, a way to see look at each move and attack that the other player made. The current system, which shows a bunch of arrows and attack points, is pretty crude, and leaves you feeling less than satisfied, particularly when you have a solid defensive position one turn, and suddenly on the next turn, it has been annihilated.

Yep, this is the prinicipal fault of the original game for me as well. Not very modern game design, but maybe a result of focus on the single player mode. Anyway, probably not something the GS team can be expected to fix.

This isn't very likely, since the devs aren't focusing on AI improvements (important for SP), for example, but on game balance, which is crucial especially in MP.

Obviously meant the original Commander Europe at War game's focus, not GS.

Embarrassing question, how do you get the replay to show.
