Multi-CarryOver .... saves?

Post by Merr »

Pip,

I think I found a bug when running Multiple Carryover campaigns ...

I was running Marget Garden campaign and I got up to Mission # 6 (again) ... In my USER folder, I was running another CarryOver campaign that I was creating for later as a user scenario.

Well, I started MG mission # 6, then saved it ... no problem, at this point I can go back and everything is fine ...
However, if I started my USER carryover campaign and saved it, my MG camp becomes invalid now ... perhaps because there is only one CURRENT.CSF file that now contains data from my USER camp, not the MG camp.

Does that make sense?

I can check this again if you need me to.

Hmmm - I would need to go back and see how I made the autosaves work. I'll check it out.

Thanks!

Cheers

Hmmm - you might be right :(. It's not the CURRENT.CSF file (that isn't used any more, I should stop that being saved!) - but there is a problem with the logic I use to keep all the carryover files avoiding each other - it is using the wrong number for the actual file itself.

I will get it fixed here and I guess we will need to get an update out sooner rather than later to allow people to play your impending carryover masterpiece ;).

Cheers

Hmm ... Ok ... Cool 8) ... The reason why I'm acting sursprised is that I went back to run some more tests and I figured I was imagining things!
I was about to post another "operater dilusion"

So, apparently, there was something amuck (just not spot-on!) and I'm glad you found it!

Well, don't rush on my account!

I need to get my Random Bonus out (template version) and glue that to my other scripts ... I've got alot of "merr-ging" to do

Well - you might be right :). The logic is quite involved (we tied ourselves in knots a little by only having saving in battle, rather than having people expect to need to save) but I just ran a test and it does seem to work as expected. So it might well be that you imagined something - even though I told you you didn't.

This is getting more confusing than the bug! ;)

So I won't have to rush out an update. Which is good.

Cheers
