Easy way to eliminate Maus tanks

Post by Xerkis »

I played USA East Coast scenario as the Allies. (After all, I have to defend my home land.)
:)

After the Germans had a beachhead they started producing Maus tanks. I think I had about 5 on my screen at one time. I was able to eliminate all of them from the fight with a very easy exploitation of the AI.

I had an American destroy floating around the peninsula that is between Philadelphia and Richmond. It was adjacent to the land hex at the tip of said peninsula, down where the radar station is located. All the Maus came down the narrow strip of land to take a shot at my destroyer. So I moved it up the coast a bit, but still next to a land hex and within the sight of the Germans. The group of Maus followed me up the coast. So I went back down – they followed me down.

I was able to easily handle the rest of the German invasion force with a very small amount of units to do the job. All because the 5 Maus just followed me up and down the coast and never was able to get in to the action.

Just thought I would share this, because it was extremely comical to watch.
