Which mod is most complete?

Post by MartyWard »

I think i'm ready to try one of the mods here. There seem to be some really good ones.
Which one is the most complete as far as testing and balance against the AI?
Will it work with the generic mod installer?
Would it reuire new maps to be loded separately or are new maps generally included in the mods?
Thanks.

There are cosmetic mods like the flag mod and big unit mod.

So far the best mod is the AA and AT patch mod otherwise download a multiplayer map.

For campaigns it seems the Italian or the Japanese are pretty good.

So far, the Generic Mod Enabler has worked on all of the modded campaigns I've tried. I highly recommend using it so you don't have to bother with making backups. The mods also include the new maps so they don't have to be loaded separately. Now, as for which one to try, that depends on your tastes. If you never played the original Panzer General (or want to revisit it with this new game engine), then the Classic Panzer General mod is pretty cool. Lots of maps and very faithful to the original. If you want try some shorter ones, the Italian Campaign and German Campaign mods are fun. I haven't tried out the "A Long War" mod, but it has around 18 maps and looks pretty cool. That's the great thing about the Generic Mod Enabler. You can download multiple modded campaigns and fool around to see which one you like. One piece of advice, though: use the description portion when making saves, so you can match the save with the correct campaign. If you try to load a save of a campaign that isn't loaded in the GME, the map won't load.

Thanks for the recommendations.
I have one other question. I have Windows 7 64 bit installed. The game is installed in c\program files (x86)\Panzer Corps. Is this where I create the Mod folder and install the different mods in if I'm using the generic mod installer?

I have the same system and all mods are here for me.
C:\Program Files (x86)\Slitherine\Panzer Corps\MODS

Then a folder under MODS that will be the mod itself. Example for the PG mod it's
C:\Program Files (x86)\Slitherine\Panzer Corps\MODS\PGCampaign013

Enjoy
:)

Rezaf`s original pg campaign is also pretty good, though it still has a few bugs here and there! I know he is still workoing on it but I think he did a great job on it! It gives you that old addicted to the pg game feeling!
