The 1942 Ostfront: Who would like to see more?

Post by monkspider »

One thing that saddened me a bit is to see only Fall Blau as the sole representaton of the Ostfront's battles in 1942. The scenario itself is outstanding, easily one of my top five favorites, but it would have been nice to see the second battle of Kharkov or the Soviet attack on Rhzev or maybe a battle to stem the tide of Operation Uranus or an Operation Winter Storm battle to punch through the Stalingrad encirclement or the third battle of Kharkov after Stalingrad. And even worse, if we achieve a decisive victory on Fall Blau, the historical Stalingrad disaster still occurs. It would have been nice if a decisive victory might have allowed for a Moscow '42 scenario or something.

I guess in short, this time period seems like it could stand to be fleshed out better in the future, did anyone else feel this way?

ANY campaign in the Eastern Theatre is my kind of game. I would love to have campaigns and scenarios overwhelmingly made for it. I could write several paragraphs about battles and campaigns that would make marvelous material for custom add ons. I made a decent start list in the "wish list" thread.
Old Timer Panzer General fan. Maybe a Volksturm soldier now. Did they let Volksturm drive Panzers?

Oooh, that is a vote of confidence that I like to see Kerensky!

Here is a Flakenrohr's post from the wishlist thread he referenced earlier, a pretty good list if I do say so myself.

"How about some more late war campaigns across Ukraine, Belarus and the Courland Pocket like Koenigsburg, the front around Leningrad. Lots of tank battles took place in the north during the withdrawal from Leningrad to eastern Prussia with ARmy Group North."

Maybe you guys will make all those old German tankers and Ivan's proud! I think I can see Otto smiling down on PzC now.

I love eastern front stuff and the 1942 campaign is my favourite period. It was really Germany's last chance to win the war and both sides through in everything they had. I'd like to see more stuff, especially from this era. It looks like the developers are working on something but only they know what it is.
