The wars of the Lombards - Against the Heruls

Post by omarquatar »

In a single battle somewhere along the Danube, the Lombards destroy the kingdom of the Heruls. The year is about 510 AD.

Hi, i tryed the scenario as Lombard. My first impression is negative.
I have found the scenario too much canted in favor of the Heruli: all their units are superior or élite and this render the comparison with the units of the Lombards difficult, that they are instead in maximum part ordinary.

It's a battle between two very different armies: the Heruls were famous for their excellent LI and for fighting without armour - very old german style, i would say; the Lombards have a more balanced army, with some archers, heavy protected infantry and superior cavalry.
In my playtesting sessions (in MP mode) i had wins both with the Lombards and with the Heruls as well, so i don't think the scenario is exceedingly biased.
