Even more than ancients, I think FogR needs to be a 900 point game (at minimum) to resemble something close to a real battle.

Nice one Tim and thanks for taking the time to post.

Quick question - I'm putting together a Louis XIV army - whose figures did you use especially for the Generals stands - mine so far are from Venexia.

Great reporting job and congratulations on your 3rd place finish. Tactical lessons to be learned from reading these, but I still don't have the nerve to try a flank charge.

Mine are almost all Essex - the line cavalry units (grey coated) riders are Hallmark (from Magister Militum) but the Hallmark horses were too small so I replaced them with Essex ones. The one white-coated infantry unit was also from Hallmark.

Tim, One small correction on your Louis XIV list. The elite Maison du Roi are impact pistol/melee pistol. They can not be impact horse.

The Mason de Roi will give a 'Gallic shrug' and say "I don't want to talk to you no more, you empty headed animal food trough wiper. I fart in your general direction. Your mother was a hamster and your father smelt of elderberries."
