European Medieval Handgunners

Post by ravenflight »

Hi All,

Would European Medieval Handgunners have had a pavise at all?

Got the Perry Miniatures, and they come with a pavise, but they are interchangeable with the crossbowmen, so not sure if you can get away with it or not? Personally I like the idea of the pavise, and always go with 'don't let the truth get in the way of a good paint job' but still interested in knowing...

I have the old WRG book for that period and I seem to remember it mentioning that german handgunners especially were known for pavise use. I will double check and also bring the book over next thursday.

Cheers..............Geoff
