Hi, have re-designed the Marathon Scenario, to prevent the Persians from getting easy overlaps and envelopments. I sort of copied the original map and then stretched it. Would I be committed any faux paus by posting the alternate scenario by using a very similar map to the original?

No, I would say go ahead. You can always give a "hat-tip" to the other designer in your blurb, if you want to. I have just finished Courtrai 1302 which has been done quite well by somebody else. I have actually copied their troop deployments for both sides as I could not find any other info. The main difference between my version and the other one is that my map includes the town and castle of Courtrai, which seem to me to be important elements of the battle.
