Is the queuing thing a bug?

Post by manticore »

Great game! It proves a good buy as other people on the forum said it would.

But I noticed a weird bug (maybe it's a feature) that maybe only I'm experiencing, and is really getting on my nerve.

I have this tendency to click my mouse when the fighting animation is going on (hey, what else can you do  ), and it seems to queue(is that the right word for it) actions for the unit to take after it's done fighting.

This is really weird, since, as far as I can tell, I keep clicking the same hex where my unit is, but after the fighting is over, my unit moves to a different hex nearby.

The more weird thing is, once it moves to the different hex, I can't undo the move, even though no new enemy has been revealed.

I don't remember having this problem in PG, so I think it maybe a coding mistake?

And could one of the mods, maybe sticky all the bugs people found, and features that will be implemented in the future patch, so that people don't repeat what other people have already uncovered? I hate to be the one to repeat what others have already found. That would be nice.

Thanks.

I really don't know if this is bug. But the unit during the combat animation do queue orders.
If you click on the next hex while she's combating and still hasn't completed the movement phase, the unit will move to that hex.

Yes, que is a feature.

But please don't click on end turn as the AI takes over for your troops.

If this is a feature, then in my opinion it is one that should be able to be turned off. I haven’t done it myself (at least not that I noticed) but I can see how this would be quite annoying.

Also, I don’t see how this would be a feature that you would want to ever use. You never know for sure what the results are going to be in a battle so how would you know which hex to queue up the after action move?

I agree, I would never use it.

Do not need a turn off button.

SIMPLE, DON't go clicking around the map when the AI is moving.

Agreed, but simple rule in programming; if a user can do something – even though there is no reason what so ever for them to do it – they will do it… therefore, you must program to handle them doing it.

It seems that I spend over half of my time at work doing just this: preventative programming.

I like the "DO NOT EAT" on desiccate pads included in packaging.

Sometimes you can not fix stupid.

True you must avoid stupid, butt...

It's hard for programmers and beta testers to think stupid.

We try, butt are too stupid to think stupid

@Xerkis, you can use the two-button mouse option and not have to worry about it. With the 2 button setup, you use left click to select and right click to move so left clicking around the map by accident won't cause your units to move.
