BA Mac Beta on Lion

Post by boshar »

Just upgraded to Lion and did a test with BA. I used windowed mode. In windowed mode BA is playable but the mouse pointer is 'sticky'. You can only leave the window via the TAB, the map scrolling feels a bit off too I sometimes had to use keyboard shortcuts to see the map. I don't remember seeing this behavior in Snow Leopard. I also noticed the startup screen staying open in its own window. Don't remember if it alway did this but in Lion it looks a bit weird,

Full screen the game still works normal.

Thanks for the feedback. It might be that we just disable windowed mode - it's not usually great for mouse scrolling anyway, as you tend to fall out of the window.

I think that the startup window does sometimes fail to go away - I'm not sure why - I tell it to!

I'll try and see whether I can set up an alternate boot on my mac to test Lion. I don't want to break my dev settings.

Thanks

Pip

I agree that he current windowed mode is not that useful now. Even if the mouse issues can be solved the window is tiny on a normal Mac desktop. Tested with the new BA Beta today. The startup screen closed when running windowed mode this time. The startup screen remembers previous options now. (jay!) Mouse issues in windowed mode remain. Full screen works much better but still full screen doesn't use the correct aspect ratio so everything looks a bit out of shape. I don't know if the other Beta testers have the same results. My iMac runs at 1920 x 1080. I would like a black side border mode if it gets the game aspect ratio right. (sort of a run full screen Lion mode).

Don't want to switch from beta testing to feature requesting though. The game plays fine as it is (even felt a bit faster with the new BA Beta on Lion).

Keep up the good work!
