The First Patch rule
Gentlemen: it is time honoured policy out of respect for the designers and the developers, that I will not render a review of a game until and after the First Patch has been issued and the game judged in light of said patch.
To me,this is only fair.
That said when will the First Patch be forthcoming?

Blizzard as a concern with thousands of fanboys can afford such an answer.
But here was a clear question from a customer and it should be possible to be more precise than "when its ready". Especially when Slitherine predents on trying to keep in touch with the community.
"When its ready" is just cheeky when someone asked who payed his money for your product.
Greetings...

The primary duty of the seller is to be honest with the customer. As they don´t know what needs to be patched or how easy it will be to implement the patch, they can´t pin down an exact date. That they are honest about that isn´t "cheeky".dickesKind wrote:Blizzard as a concern with thousands of fanboys can afford such an answer.

From my initial experience, there isn´t any glaring fault that needs to be patched, everything has worked smoothly so far. I assume there are the usual (and frustrating!) PC hardware problems for some that need a patch ASAP though.
Indeed there are, and we're still collecting these reports. So the idea of coming up with an exact patch date when we're still collecting the data on what needs fixing is a little unreasonable, wouldn't you agree?Benjerry wrote:From my initial experience, there isn´t any glaring fault that needs to be patched, everything has worked smoothly so far. The more problems were aware of, the more we're hopefully able to address as quickly as possible!
On that note, if anyone does have these sorts of problems, please report them, with as much detail as you can provide here in our tech support forums.

The game is three days old in the market and you expect them to have an ETA on the first patch? "When it's ready" is the ONLY possible answer at this point in time.dickesKind wrote:Blizzard as a concern with thousands of fanboys can afford such an answer.

That's a very nice signature you have there.SAS wrote:I think the game is VERY well done and I don't see any issues that are patch worthy. A very smooth release. Must have something to do with the great beta testers.

But yes, thanks to our BETA test, no less than 111 (that's one hundred, eleven) bugs have been discovered and fixed already!

At the moment we're not rushing to get a patch out as we don't see any serious issues that need addressing. If we see something serious we'll get a fix out but for now we're watching and waiting to get more detailed feedback on any balance issues. The development team is working on localisation right now unless something more serious comes up.

The game is running perfectly, and hasn't crashed a single time ( running Windows7 with an Nvidia GT230 card ).
The first patch should indeed mostly address balancing issues, and I don't mind if it takes a couple weeks until it's packed, as someone posted: let's give the guys some feedback first, and work out how to make this brilliant game even more brilliantly

I think he's paraphrasing Gandalf, actuallyterrymulijana wrote:you spoke like someone in the other forum games... ( I think on Paradox Interactive forum )Razz1 wrote:A patch never arrives early or late. It arrives just in time.

Anyway, the only thing I can manage to think of with Panzer Corps that could use some tinkering, would be a fleshing out of the in-game library which is a bit incomplete at the moment. But that's no biggie.
