Game Sales Acceptable?

Just curious if anyone would comment on the initial launch sales and the reception from the community. Not talking sales $$ or anything, but just if the developers and distributors have seen the reaction and sales they expected. I only ask because I want you guys to stay inspired and continue to feed a long-lost gaming void and I know that will only be if the sales warrant it. Hope it's been good!!

It is doing extremely well, better than expected so far. Not that we don`t believe in the game itself, but as a small Indie developer and in this niche market of strategy gaming, getting exposure is so hard. We have to compete with AAA game publishers who spend millions on PR and marketing. Budgets we can only dream off...

So we have to stand out with game quality, reliability, passion and a lot of mouth to mouth advertising.

If you all want to help us, please spread the word, post on the big game websites, forums and blogs and tell people about us and this game. Tell your friends and family, Twitter, Facebook... post links, screenshots, AAR`s, just let people know.

That way we are helped most.

Boy, I'm really glad, for you.
This game can bring a whole new generation of players for this genre niche.
And it will be an incentive for further expansions and for more beer and pretzels games.
Congratulations to the whole team.

I was wondering this too and for the same reasons as above. I’m very happy it is going well so far for you guys. These types of games are nowhere to be seen any more. Far too many FPS or RTS games out there (and in my opinion, they all look the same too). Need more games where you have to think it out – not just run around and shoot anything that moves.

… and by the way, will Slitherine hire me since I will lose my job sooner or later from taking very long lunches playing Panzer Corps?

Nor remotely susprised. I have seen the game discussed favourably in all sorts of places online that have almost nothing to do with gaming.

And I have made the effort to see to it I was the reason too as often as possible.

I think the game has a lot of potential as it is simply not a grognard only game. You likely will be selling to many people that simply wouldn't play some other wargames even if they were given the game for free. Some games are just not as 'playable'.

Well, that´s good news with the forecast sales reached within 24 hours !!

I´m happy I was able to contribute too to the sales though being a beta tester and having it played over and over already

So with the sales being good so far we all can look forward to some nice expansions I would guess

That is very nice to hear. Good for you, and probably, concerning high quality addons, long time support, for us

I think you do a good job, in the form of software. Additional, you'r forum presence (in the form of replys and support) is great. Thats the way I want it, and thats the way I like it

I believe in the way of developing rather "small" games for niche communities (panzer general) and beeing very close the community, concerning future changes / addons etc.

Since "BBC Battlefield Academy" Slitherine is one of my favourite publishers, making very good games with small budgets. And in addition, many of those games are exclusively round based! Great, since I´m a very big fan of that genre....

First let me say: Great game!

But i am a little bit angry about the price politic from Slitherine. I have bought the game at Release.

Two Days later pops up a window on Gamestar (a german game magazine) with a 25 % discount code for Panzer Corps at Slitherine.

Why discount, while the sales are so good...

Sorry about this - it was not supposed to happen like this. All I can say is that there was a screw up at GameStar which meant this all went out at the wrong time and we had to honour the coupons

the game is worth every cent!

I mean...other games you have to pay like 50-59 euro (well count in german taxes etc)
this one came only 35 euro without a coupon/discount/whatever

I noticed that Slitherine has a Facebook page with a list and a few links for its games. If you were to make a page for Panzer Corps, we Facebook users could "like" it and it would show up in our activity feed to all our friends.
