NO 1945 LIMIT
I have the same problem with the Grand Strategy expansion, just about to conquer Spain and the game ends. I ticked the option to extend the game beyond 1945. The Jan 1946 turn behaves oddly, with the options of buying new units (in fact all the lower row of buttons) blocked out. You can't scroll on the map although move/combat still works although the damage reports stay on screen.
Is there any way to overcome this problem?

This is a great computer game, it's a shame the "computer" part of it is a bit shoddy (black java screen showing, no widescreen, some parts of menus don't work well etc) .

Is there any way of scripting or modding GS so that there is an option to continue past 1945? The game is great as it is, but it would be interesting to also play "what if" scenarios; one of these being how long Germany can hold out past the historical timelines.rkr1958 wrote:The option to continue the game past May 1945 is a carry over from the base, or vanilla, game. Frankly I don't know. If you select "off" the ends in May 1945 option I'm not sure what happens beyond 1945. Again, GS was designed to end on turn 105 (May 1945). Just my two cents.
I have to disagree. Not the part about GS being designed to end on turn 105 and performance of the sides to be evaluted at that moment. But I for one would like to see the past turn 105 option to be included even if it forces the play to stop at the start of 1946. I'm running CEAW Grand Strategy version 2.00.11b on Mac OS 10.5.8
I'm having the same problem with the game glitching at the start of 1946.
As soon as the game goes beyond 1945, the 'save' and 'next turn' options disappear so I cannot continue the game.
I obviously un-tick 'game ends at 1945' option from the main menu before playing.
Is there a patch available to fix this? It's really annoying as I was blooding my SS units in Turkey before a full scale invasion of the UK.
I have also noticed that I cannot convert more than 6 units to elite SS in 1945 (I always convert armour to SS) even though 10 are supposed to be available.
Otherwise - I love the game and think it's totally great.

Since the game in its original version can be played into and beyond 1946, and as stated GS is a carry over from the base, the GS version should still work beyond 45'. Something must be wrong with the GS. I wonder if play after 45' was ever tested. I had been having very slow AI turns from 43' onward. Lasting over 10 minutes most of the time. Screen would freeze after computer moved the convoys. Than like clockwork the game would unfreeze to finish the AI's turn. Very frustrating.
Great game, but too many bugs. It would be a shame if I had to go back to the base.[/code]
