First impressions - It really felt like you were running an army
Deployment was quick and easy
Things acted pretty much the way I expected them to (Longbow scared hell out of mounted, and irritated foot, MAA were rock hard, skirmishers were a pain, but not very destructive and so on)
It was a very enjoyable game, and well worth the early morning drive up the M1 (thanks Neil)
frustations
- trying to work out CMT and CT modifiers - there seemed to be an awful lot of them at this point. This is probably the most important bit and needs to be there in 12pt. I gave up and just let Neil work them out - luckily he explained his adjustments as he went. I kept wanting to roll low (like a WAB Ld test) so was getting myself even more confused.
-It felt really disapointing when you get 5 shooting hits on a unit of and nothing happens - but thats the way dice go, not really anything to do with the game.
Looking back at those points - myabe its the number of dice, but I find myself comparing more to warhammer (which I find a dull dull game after an hour or so) than DBM.
