chariots and base sizes for 25mm figures

Most of my 25mm armies have commanders in chariots which have a base size of 60 x 80mm. I assume this is legal for commanders. I'm not going to change my base sizes for chariots though for commanders because they are not going to fit on 60 x 60mm. This disprecancy seems to have been overlooked by the rules?
