CEAW GS 2.0 won't launch

I deleted the old CEAW GS and installed GS 2.0

I click on the CEAW shortcut icon, I get a menu with fullscreen and sound checkboxs, I click okay, but the game won't launch.

I check the task manager to see if CEAW GS 2.00 is running, but it's not?

I tried the old run as administrator and changed to windows xp compatibility. Still don't work.

Where's the throw monitor emoticon?

I have CEAW 1.12 in a matrix file folder and installed GS 2.0 into the default slitherine file folder, does it matter.
When I try to run CEAW 1.12 it won't worl either it says I need a JRE from java.com. I downloaded and installed it but CEAW 1.12 still won't run. does it matter?

I am supercalafragalisticallyexpyalladosiously stumped.

Just tried reinstalling GS 1.06 into the matrix file folder. Now I get a message saying windows is searching for java.exe.

I deleted everything CEAW related.

Then reinstalled CEAW. Got it working then uUpdated it to 1.12. Still working.
Then downloaded GS 2.0 and installed it. Now GS 2.0 still won't run.

My cup boileth over.

For GS 1.06 I had CEAW 1.12 inside the matrix games/commander europe at war file folder whereas I had GS 1.06 inside the matrix games/CEAW GS 1.06 file folder and it worked fine.

For GS 2.0 I have it installed in matrix games/CEAW GS 2.0

For GSv2.00 to install and run correctly:

1. Any previous version of GS must first be uninstalled.

2. The base, or vanilla, CEaW game must be patch up to CEaW v1.12 gold. People who own the Slitherine version can get that free patch from here (for Slitherine ver) and people who own the Matrix version can find it here (for Matrix ver).

3. Once you've upgraded your base (or vanilla) version of CEaW to 1.12 gold then install GSv2.00 to the same folder that contains your base install.

Apologies if this is posted in wrong place.
Purchased Military History CEAW with GS included few weeks ago.
Installed fine, (Windows XP), clicked on to start up game and nothing happens.
Any and all help appreciated. (Not a computer guy......English please LOL).
Really looking forward to playing this.

I though you had just purchased CEaW with GS. If that's not the case and you're trying to add GS then check this out: viewtopic.php?p=229170#229170

Game that wont start is recently (one month) purchased CEaW with GS.
Sorry for the confusion, just mentioning that I had no problems with Matrix CEaW.

Can you make sure you write full sentences in response to this as the abberviated ones can be read many ways and we need to be completely clear about what you have and have not done.

When did you buy CEAW and do you have the boxed or digital download version. The boxes were produced before GS was remastered as part of teh install so it is only the digital versions that currently include GS.

Purchased CEaW (Boxed) thru Slitherine website last month, I thought with GS included ?
So you're telling me that I spent $50 on a game I already have, with no GS ?
I purchased the game boxed because the downloads never work and take forever, so I thought it would be easier buying the whole new and improved version.

As for the game, it installs fine, just doesnt run.
Click on the icon, black screen comes up then closes, thats it.

Thanks again in advance for any an all info, if the GS isnt on the game I just bought I'll just chuck it and eat the $50 I guess.

GS is a free expansion you can download but you're saying you can't download it? Have you tried using a download manager? This makes download large files much easier - e.g. try the free DAP (Download Accelerator Plus).

The Matrix & Slitherine installers are the same so if one works the other should work.

Ok, lets try this again.

I purchased MH CEaW last month under the impression that GS was included, that I was buying an updated and complete version. I already own Matrix copies of CEaW and Slitherines MH CEaW. Now, it appears I flushed $50 down the drain buying a game I already own, plus...........it doesnt work.
Ok, my fault...........Buyer Beware.

The advertising on the web site sure seems to imply that GS is included on boxed purchases, so I thought.
Again..........Buyer Beware.

Downloads dont work, take too long, I usually get bounced by my net provider after 4-5 hours. Few downloads I have been able to finish I get a "incomplete download" message when trying to install.

Thats why I bought the game AGAIN, because I thought it was complete on one disk, eliminating downloading and updating.

Anyway................its disappointing, was really looking forward to GS. Oh well, my bad.

Enjoy your products, have Commander : Napoleon, really liked it.
You might try...........Commander : American Civil War ?? (Civil War really hasnt been done well.)

In My Documents/CEAW/data there's a settings.txt file. Delete that file and try again. Also, in My Documents/Grand Strategy/data there's also a settings.txt file. Delete that file too and see if GS runs.
