Metal 15mm lances

Does anybody know of any metal 15mm European knight type lances. Like to Xyston or North Star epears that do not bend like the one supplied with the figures?

I presume you mean lances with a flared shaft ending in a guard covering the hand.

Mirliton make them but they are to bendy anyway. I respear everything including ditching the mirliton lances with either purchased xyston lances (cut down pike) or I make my own from brass wire.

I make my own from brass wire.

How do you do that?

1. Cut the brass rod to the lenght you want.
2. take a hammer and flatten the end
3. cut the flattened end into a spear shape with cutters or just file it down
4. finish with a grinder

I use a small hammer to do the bashing and a heavier one as an anvil, then a dremmel to do the shaping.

If you wanted the flared handguard you would either have to add it with green stuff putty to a piano wire shaft or use a metal lathe to mill down steel round stock. Maybe in 25mm. never going to happen in 15mm.

What would be really useful if some plastic fig manufactuer made up a sprue of 15mm lances. So far we haven't seen plastic 15mm figs except for WW2, but who knows in the future?

You can get a piece of sprue, melt it over a candle and then draw it out. It will narrow to a point. Then cut it off and drill the end out and put a 'handle' in place. It's more flexible and less bendy than lead, but they will break so you have to do repairs every so often...
