basing plastics.

any advice on basing plastics?

They seem awfully light - is this a problem? should i use steel as bases to give extra weight?

Some people combine those bases with magnets to make transportation simpler. I guess the point with it is the thickness more than the material. I have FoW bases, which are thinner than my usual FoG bases and I have had no problems.

I have used artist mat board for my plastics. I had some on heavier bases and unfortunately the box they were in was knocked over. I had to spend some time gluing broken figures together that were damaged by the heavy bases. No such problem with the mat board.

Thank's for the suggestion, but I'll either do it with steel and put flexible magnets on the base of the box, or do it with magnetized bases in the first place. Since using magnetized bases I don't think I'd ever use anything but something that can be magnetized.

I put plastics on pennies so I can pick them up easily when painting. I just leave the pennies on the bottom to add weight when I base.

putting the arg into argumentative, except for the lists I check where there is no argument!
