Looking forward to FoGN

Post by shadowdragon »

By far, Napoleonic miniatures are the largest part of my miniature wargaming collection. The basing and figure to troop ratio are both what I used for the old WRG rules, except that I went with bases that were 20% larger to accommodate the figures. Just over 10 years ago I switched to Principles of War (Napoleonic), which is actually not a bad set, but I've not played any PoW games since 2003 (with one exception - see below). PoW was okay but I never committed to it 100% - after all I continued to buy and base figures on the old WRG ratios.

More recently I discovered FoG (both AM and F). I've played many games and expanded my collection to fit FoG specifications.

This last week I did play a Napoleonic game (corps size battle) using the WRG rules with some amendments for triple moves beyond tactical range of the enemy and brigade morale. I went okay, but compared to FoG:AM & R, I found it too fiddly.

Now I eagerly await FoGN with, perhaps, the task of rebasing over 3000 figures and additional purchases to pad out existing units. I'll have no problem doing that if FoGN is anywhere near as much fun to play as FoG: AM or R.

So, when guys? When?

We will be in a position to give you news on the release date in the not to distant future

Thanks for responding, JDM. So, I'll take that to be "real soon now".

Eagerly awaiting the announcement.
