I'm new to the beta test and after half way through the tutorial campaign would like to share my thoughts on Panzer Corps 0.96b so far:
- Brings back Panzer General feeling in a very good way.
- Great battle animations.
- AI seems quite good.
- There should be more informations provided in tooltips rather than in the side bar.
- Can't load a game when actually in a game. Have to go to main menu to do that. This is annoying.
- Not able to find shortcuts with the exception of STRG + S for save.
- Information on enemy units should be displayed alsongside the side bar also on top or bottom of page
- Battle results should be displayed also on top or bottom of page. At the moment there is only information about how many points are lost on the unit itself.
- Red line which is displayed on units which can't move any more sometimes leads to me not able to easy identify the remaining strength of the unit.
- When deploying troups and click on an unit to deploy, it is difficult do determine which stats are valid for this unit in the side bar.
- I would prefer to use the left mouse button for selecting an unit and also moving/attacking, etc. like in the original Panzer General.
- When selecting "New Game" it should default go to the campaign screen, not scenario screen.
- Buttons for Play/Cancel in campaign/scenario screen are to small for my taste and hard to find. Should be place more visible on the screen.
- Purchase Screen - when selecting an unit with carrier (artillery with Opel Blitz f.e.) deselecting the carrier is not possible any more.
- There should be some sound/animation when an unit is destroyed.
- When an unit is heavily damaged it should be possible to overrun the unit as in Panzer General.

Normally we preserve backwards compatibility between betas, but in this particular case, unfortunately, this was not really an option. However, all is not lost. You can use cheat code to trigger the victory which you deserved, and the following scenarios should proceed as normal.Alex2001 wrote: Arggggh..

This was mentioned somewhere as a byproduct of windows installs I believe. For people who installed to Desktop or C: directory, they are automatically given a subfolder.Bug:

As a temporary solution, you can select a new unit to clear the transport selection, and then return to your wanted purchase to remove the transport.- Purchase Screen - when selecting an unit with carrier (artillery with Opel Blitz f.e.) deselecting the carrier is not possible any more.

Would require extensive UI re-working, so not going to happen before release. In the mean time 'L' hotkey to view the combat log should help. Already implemented. Units with suppression > strength are forced to retreat. If no retreat options are available because of terrain or unit blocking, unit surrenders.- When an unit is heavily damaged and encircled with units it should forfeit, also as in Panzer General.

Have to add that handling is also inconsistent here. Because you do moving/attacking with right mouse button, but deploying units at the beginning of a scenario or purchased units with the left mouse button. Release 0.999 broke backwards compatibility. Uninstalled previous beta before. When you select the Purchase game crashes.

We ask you to unsinstall between each beta - this is not a compatability issue - its just beta testing

A thing I noticed is that it is really difficult to deselect an air unit. With a ground unit you normally click on a not highlighted hex but because air units have quite a range it is challenging to to it here. Can you integrate a shortcut to cancel selecting an unit?
Thought that I read somewhere that the AI does not cheat....well....playing "Fall Weiss" now and AI replaced the losses of an artillery and overstrenghtend it in one turn.
