First impressions on Training campaign

Post by hicksey »

Nice intro screen.
Screen after click on new game a bit cluttered. Campaign and Scenario button would tidy it up.
Nice briefing screens in the training campaign.
UI is fine. Intuitive.
VP cities need to be highlighted more. Sometimes hard to see especially at 1680 x 1050. Likewise core units hard to pick out.
Plays very well.
6th training tutorial NE corner of map; difficult to see what is funnelling your units to NE and S. Looks like forest but I assume they are mountains.
Fighter bombers can only ground attack once. I assume this is intentional? Mine still had ammo and fuel but couldn’t attack until I had returned to airfield. Perhaps a marker to show it has expended its ground attack capability?
Buying new units.
The briefing tells you that you have been granted extra core units, but you cant buy them until after the scenario has started. Surely you should be able to buy them and add to a reserve list?

Tutorial campaign is good, introducing new units every scenario.
Thoroughly enjoying playing the game. Has the 'must play one more scenario' feel.
Now onto the 1939 campaign!

Update: Fighter bomber problem seems to be due to weather. Find the two icons for weather and forecast hard to read.

Bombers can attack once per turn, as all other units, but other than that, there is no limit: as long as you have ammo, you can bomb. Perhaps the weather was rainy or snowy on the turn when you could not attack? Bad weather effects bombers; ability to attack.

Yes indeed, it is a bug.
