Initial feedback after playing some this afternoon:
-Clean menu design. Takes a little getting used to since I'm a Panzer General veteran but once you get passed that it's fine.
-Runs fine on my "work" laptop. A few times I encountered random pauses when moving units but this occurred only twice that I can remember and was only a few seconds.
-Started playing the campaign. Took a few tries to realize that while you left click to select the unit you have to right click the space to move it. It may have been this way in PG and I've forgotten.
-Noticed several spelling errors on the scenario intro texts. Only noticed it in a few places but a quick proof read would find most of them.
-Unmoved Units option doesn't appear to function.
-My German isn't as good as it used to be so remember what some of the units are was a bit difficult. An option to show an English translation or even a tool tip with a brief description would be extremely helpful.
-There doesn't seem to be a display for the PG 'Rugged Defense'. The only way you really notice is when the attacking unit takes heavy losses.

Do you mean something like showing "Tank" instead of "Panzer"?Brenell wrote: -My German isn't as good as it used to be so remember what some of the units are was a bit difficult. An option to show an English translation or even a tool tip with a brief description would be extremely helpful.
Yes, this should be added.Brenell wrote: -There doesn't seem to be a display for the PG 'Rugged Defense'. The only way you really notice is when the attacking unit takes heavy losses.
Re: 30 Sec + 5 Min + 30 Min Feedback
Something like that. I think it was the bridge infantry that was causing me issues. For a veteran it's not an issue, for a new player a tool tip that indicates best use of the unit might be good. Not trying to over simplify the game.Rudankort wrote:Do you mean something like showing "Tank" instead of "Panzer"?Brenell wrote: -My German isn't as good as it used to be so remember what some of the units are was a bit difficult. I've just played around some hours on the beta.
First of all. (first 5 seconds), the running panzer small video is really well-done. Great job.
After having played, I have to say, that graphics are fine (I've compared with the PG/Allied general).
Difficulty (AI) is quite good , the ennemy do sit and wait for an attack, it may take the opportunity even on a defensive mission, and that's great too.
The train capacity is a nice idea.
About the UI, every seems ok to me, but I dislike completely the new Game main screen.
This one is just a two tabs with several radio buttons and some checkboxes. On top of that, we go straigth to the scenario tab.
I would appreciate that each selection (scenario or campain would be not only a text but also a picture (see what steam has done with its game presentation screen - small pictures of the game), this could be nice for selection of campains (a picture of the main strategic map with some arrow (red and blue), or a real pictures of the battle (for scenarios)
In few words, the selection screen is too simple and not really sexy.
The game in itself is quite good, and i take a lot of pleasure while playing it (even with the Combat Mission normandy demo installed), I took more times on your game.
As stated in another post, it would be great to have some kind of higher personnalition of our core troops by having a physical HQ on the map.
This HQ could provide bonuses, and would evolve when solving secondary objectives and/or when finishing a scenario (brilliant victory means bonus, when marginal victory not)
Bonus can be provide more defense to surrounding troops (level 1 - 2 hexes away, level 2 - 3 hexes away, ...) , it might be also, no fuel or ammo reloading when in range of the HQ, ...
I have plenty ideas...
Also If you need translation in french, I can provide help.
Best regards,
JMLiege
