failure to launch

I have played the game many times, but now it will not launch (the map choice screen will not appear when the title is clicked. I twice got this message: "Display does not support 1280", but this is not correct, as nothing has changed in my system or settings. Any ideas? Thanks.

You haven't update any drivers, especially video drivers, or anything else with your system?
