This situation occurred in our game yesterday and had never seen it before.
An impact foot unit charges a light foot group. The LF evade and the impact unit continues to an offensive spear unit.
Now the impact wil be handled in the spears turn, right?
The spears get a POA if the "charged". They technically are receiveing a charge, but iwill be handled as if they had charged, so...................
Do they get the POA???
Thanks,
John

The impact will take place in the Impact phase of the IF. I think you may be confusing this with pursuers, who can hit new enemy and fight that in the next bound.
So, the IF get a ++ and the off spears get a + as they are not charging.
Howver, even if this was taking place in the off Spears impact phase they still get a + as offensive spearman get a + against any foot.

Yes, the bit you want is in Declaration of Charges at the start of the Impact section: "Any enemy battle group in the path of a charge counts as being charged if it can be „legally‟ contacted, even if it was not one of the originally declared targets of the charge."recharge wrote:I think we have been doing it wrong for a long time then![]()
So after the evade the IF keep going up to their full distance and if they hit another unit, they treat it like the second unit was the original target?
I guess that's what happens when you play in a small group.

So you declare on the LF, making sure you angle the charge to hit the spears (assuming you want to). LF evade. If the spear are in your normal (3HF 4MF) charge distance your impact foot just hit them. If the spears are further away you end up rolling a variable move for the charge and you hit the spears if you roll high enough. If you hit the spears you fight that in your impact phse. You don't need to, and indeed aren't allowed to, wait until next bound.
