Before I Buy ....

Post by Old_Warrior »

My club (Napoleonic Wargame Club) is wondering how this game plays. I have a few questions:

1. For PBEM - how many phases are there for the player to do? Is it like EiA where there were something like seven phases and you and your opponent did them all in sequence or do you do all of your orders, purchases of units/upgrades to types, etc at once and then send the file to your opponent for the entire turn. In other words one file per turn or is it multiple files per turn per player?

2. What is the level for land units? Battalions? Regiments? Batteries?

3. How many turns typically is a campaign? Use 1805 for an example please.

4. How many players? 2? or more player nations? Do you play the entire Allied side or does each major Allied nation have its own player?

>>> One phase per turn where you do everything to make PBEM as easy as posible to play.

2. What is the level for land units? Battalions? Regiments? Batteries?
>>> Its abstracted in a panzer general kind of way. Check the screenshots to get an idea of scale.

3. How many turns typically is a campaign? Use 1805 for an example please.
>>> I cant remember to be honest but it is a long game to play. I think a turn is 2-3 weeks.

4. How many players? 2? or more player nations? Do you play the entire Allied side or does each major Allied nation have its own player?
>>> 2 player - one per faction. Each major nation has its own resource pool so I guess if you wanted you could limit players to playing just their nation and passing it on but it was not desigend with this in mind.
