Max size of Flank March?

The rules say a flanking for can only be 1-3 BGs, but it also says if part of an ally contingent flanks the whole ally contingent must flank. Which bullet wins out? IOW, can the 5 BG ally contingent flank?

Maximum is three Bgs per General.

So a 5 Bg ally can never flank march.

A CinC can send up to 2 max. flank marches, only one per side.

EACH flank march must have a single commander and between 1 and 3 battle groups.

So far so good.......but, an Allied commander must take ALL his contingent.

Does this mean if an Allied contingent has 4 or more BG's it cannot flankmarch, or this is a case where a flankmarch can exceed 3 BG's?
