Battle of Pontvallain-Vaas 1370

Post by stockwellpete »

Or more correctly, an imagined scenario inspired by the events at Pontvallain-Vaas. This was a very complicated sequence of events as bands of English soldiers on chevauchee in northern France were confronted by various French forces led by Du Guesclin. The English are scattered in encampments in the Pontvallain-Vaas area and they have their plunder with them. The French do a forced march during the night and attack the English camps at dawn.

English troops are classed as "undrilled" in order to try and replicate the effect of a surprise attack. The large building represented is the fortified abbey of Vaas and the smaller building is a chateau.
