Complex combat casualty removal

Post by list_lurker »

removing bases after combat. We had an issue. The rules say that you remove the base from unit where the most casualties were caused.

Example

Knights

_XXXX_
AABBCC

Romans

1 BG of Knights fighting 3 BGS of romans

The Romans inflict 1 from A, 2 from B and 1 from C. Upon failing the death rolll does the middle Base get removed? the BG losing contiguity? seems a bit strange. Do the shunt up at any point? and therefore lose contact with A o C?

_XX_X_
AABBCC

??

Hi Simon,

They are almost certainly going to end up maintaining coherence on way or another. 2 possible method for that under discussion. So if a casualty removal results ina borken BG for now shuffle bases sideway 1 file to regroup.

As an on the hoof umpires ruling for now - chosen by the BG owner. We haven't made the decision fully yet. But use that for now if faced with such a siutation.

I think we agree that a borken up BG should keep its integrity or the table gets a bit too messy.
